Blogger's basic theme is
very simple and easy to use. Once your blog has plenty of content and starts
generating traffic, you can apply for a Google AdSense account and monetize
your blog. Don't do this until you have enough content, otherwise you
won't be approved.
Using WordPress would
take more time to figure out how things work but it offers a big selection of
free themes to choose from. You can manage your theme to have one or two sidebars.
It's a great platform with lots of beautiful themes. They also offer a paid
option that you may want to try once you learn to use the free option.
When you are ready monetize
your blog, apply for a Google AdSense account. Read all the step by step instructions
and videos they provide to guide you through the process. Blogger, on the other
hand, is affiliated with Google, so signing for your Google AdSense account
won't be that difficult.
There are many other
blog platforms to choose from. Some require payment, and some require upgrade.
So, for new bloggers the best choice is the two platforms mentioned above where
you can get a free blog. Choose your niche and add unique content often.
To increase the incoming
traffic to your new blog, write articles and publish them on Hubber.com and articles
directories and add a link to your blog. You can also use social media to
promote your blog. Once you have enough content published –about ten to fifteen
posts - you can monetize your blog adding AdSense and start making money.
Having a website, in
addition to your blog, provides more options to make money. However, you don't
need a website to start making money, you can generate an income blogging and
promoting your blog writing articles and submitting them to article directories
with a link to your blog.
